Adolescence awareness class at Chirakkad Anganwadi, Palakkad
The Oleevia Foundation, in collaboration with ICDS, conducted an impactful session at Chirakkad Anganwadi, focusing on adolescent mental health. The awareness session was attended by over 25 adolescent girls and parents under our initiative “Sampoorna Yuva Yojana” under Project Sashakt Bachpan. The session aimed to educate participants about adolescence, address their common challenges, and equip them with practical strategies to navigate this critical life stage effectively and confidently.
Adolescence is often described as a period of "storm and stress" due to the various emotional, psychological, and social challenges young individuals face. To address these concerns, a social worker from the Oleevia Foundation led an informative session on the mental health issues affecting children and adolescents. The session provided valuable insights into common psychological challenges, coping mechanisms, and the importance of mental well-being.
Sreeja, Project Coordinator and Social Worker, led the session, offering valuable insights into adolescent development. She discussed prevalent issues faced by adolescent girls and shared actionable tips to navigate this transformative phase with confidence and resilience.Additionally, group discussions were conducted, allowing participants to share their thoughts, experiences, and concerns. These discussions created a supportive environment for open dialogue and awareness-building. The initiative aimed to educate both children and caregivers, equipping them with knowledge and strategies to promote better mental health.
