Adolescence awareness class at Kuzhiyakkad Anganwadi
As part of Foundation’s ongoing Adolescence Awareness Program, the Oleevia Foundation organized an awareness session at Kuzhiyakkad Anganwadi, located in the Palakkad district. This initiative was aimed at the adolescent girls group within the Anganwadi. The primary focus of these sessions was to address various issues affecting young people, such as mental health challenges, stress management, and the emotional hurdles children often face during their development. In addition to these critical topics, the program also provided comprehensive information on menstrual hygiene, discussing the physical and mental health concerns associated with menstruation. The goal was to educate the girls on how to take better care of their health and well-being during this natural process and to provide support for any mental health issues that may arise. This initiative named Sampoorna Yuva Yojana under Project Sashakt Bachpan aimed to empower the participants by addressing their unique challenges and equipping them with knowledge and coping strategies for navigating adolescence effectively.
The foundation's psychologist, Gautam Ramakrishnan, played a key role by delivering an informative session on education and career development. He provided the girls with valuable insights and advice on how to navigate their educational paths and make informed decisions regarding future career opportunities. His session aimed to inspire and guide them in shaping their futures with a sense of purpose and direction. Sreeja, the foundation's social worker, led a session focused on the importance of developing life skills. She highlighted how acquiring essential life skills—such as communication, problem-solving, and decision-making—can help the girls build self-confidence, resilience, and the ability to handle life’s challenges effectively.
Through this comprehensive program, the Oleevia Foundation aimed to empower young girls with knowledge, self-awareness, and practical tools that would not only support their mental and physical well-being but also help them build a strong foundation for their future, both personally and professionally.
